Case Studies
The client approached us to redevelop their site. In terms of functionality the old site was lacking in several areas,
We worked with the client through out the scoping process and establishing the specification for the new website.
Key areas of the brief were:
The home and inner pages were designed to incorporate branding of the Motorcycle brands they sell. We added an advanced search to fast track the client to the type of bike, model and the parts they are seeking. We also incorporated a more raditional, slower navigation route that would educate users about the brand while moving through to the parts list. There is also a search by part number option that caters to trade customers who don’t need a picture to get to their desired parts.
We spent a lot of time developing the admin section of the site. Central to the old site was a complex database structure that made updating and adding a new bike to the system a significantly time consuming task. The new admin section was constructed to enable a raw parts data file to be uploaded to the site, instantly updating the part prices. It covered all the key areas of parts management by segmenting the system into what we call clustered functionality. Associated tasks were grouped in one section of the admin area. The result is that when you are doing one job you don’t need to jump around to other areas of the site to complete a task.

Central to the site was the ability to have all of the navigation of the site end in a call to action for the customer. The site has been set out to logically walk the customer through the decision making process. One of the key advancements was to allow products that are associated with content on a page to appear at the bottom of that page. Therefore, when a person is reading through content on a page they naturally come to a relevant product and a call to action
Admin can allocate parts to the pages as they need, and additional products can be added when new pages are created through the Content Management System.
